Reflecting on Two Inspiring Years of Collaboration, Research,
and Inclusion
As the COL.D.D. Project draws to a close, we are proud to share the main outcomes, insights, and the spirit of collaboration that has guided us from start to finish. Funded under the Erasmus+ framework, the project has brought together partners from Italy, Croatia, Austria, Belgium, and the Czech Republic to explore innovative, natural approaches to promoting mental health and social inclusion.
Project Results
We are delighted to present the two key outputs of the COL.D.D. project:
Handbook – “A Chilling Approach to Public Health: A Synthesis of Best Practices”
This handbook compiles practical guidelines, reflections, and methodologies to support organizations, trainers, and communities in implementing similar initiatives. It stands as a concrete contribution to promoting natural and inclusive approaches to mental health.
COL.D.D. Research Paper
This scientific publication presents the research findings from all partner countries, illustrating the positive psychological and social impact of the program. It highlights how regular cold water swimming combined with mindfulness can be a sustainable strategy for preventing depression and early signs of dementia.

Final Transnational Meeting – Palermo, October 2025
The project consortium gathered one last time in Palermo, Italy, in October 2025 for the final transnational meeting. Hosted by the Italian partner, the event provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, discuss final steps, and explore future collaborations and project continuations.
The meeting celebrated not only the successful completion of the project but also the human connections and shared values that made COL.D.D. a truly European experience.
Looking Ahead
While the project officially concludes, its legacy continues. The materials
developed — including the handbook and research paper — will remain
available to the public and serve as inspiration for new initiatives that
promote mental health, well-being, and inclusion through nature-based and
community-driven approaches.
